It was summer vacation and all the children were over at Mr. And Mrs. Postikit’s yard. Mr. Postikit was showing the children his vegetable garden. Do you know who was there? The Tomato family, the Pepper family, the Scallion Family!

While Mr. Postikit was just kidding, these vegetable families were certainly there, and so were the Ried children, the Shae children and the Faubert children, all wondering what to do during their summer vacation.

Annie said, “Mr. Postikit, Mr. Postikit, we don’t know what to do this summer, can you help?” Mr. Postikit said, “Of course I can, let’s have a hot dog stand down by the Children’s Museum.”

Mr. Postikit continued, “What I want each of you to do is go home and make a marketing plan for the day you are going to help at the stand. A marketing plan is a plan to attract people to our Hot Dog stand. Can you do that?” The children replied, “Of course we can, we will try our best!”

On Monday, at noon, Mr. And Mrs. Postikit had set up the Hot Dog stand and soon after, Sophia and Maggie showed up in clown costumes!

Sophia announced to the families going to the museum, “Step right up for the greatest Hot Dog on Earth! You will be thrilled and amazed at how good and entertaining our Hot Dogs can be.” The girls proceeded to juggle and make balloon animals to give to the children.

On Tuesday, just before noon, Mr. And Mrs. Postikit arrived at the Hot Dog stand. Much to their surprise, Sareta and Erica had made a grand balloon archway over the hot dog stand and were ready to give the children free helium filled balloons.

Sareta announced, “Step right up and get a free balloon with every hot dog. Your children will not be disappointed!.”

On Wednesday, Annie and Amy setup a table next to the Hot Dog stand. There was a sign on the table that said “Free Children’s Picture Book with every Hot Dog.”

Amy announced,” Children, you too can have this excellent children’s picture book titled “Paloon Looks for a Job” by Stephen E. Fordenbacher, a book I am sure you will enjoy. Buy a hot dog, and it is yours!”

On Thursday, Sean and Ricky did skateboard tricks for the crowd. Mr. And Mrs. Postikit were very busy selling hot dogs to the children who were visiting the Children’s Museum.

On the next Saturday morning, the children were all at Mr. Postikit’s garden. Annie said, “Mr. Postikit, Mr. Postikit, how did you do selling hot dogs this week?”

Mr. Postikit replied, “Children, you were all very hard working and creative with your marketing plans. I am very proud of you. We have never sold so many hot dogs in one week before. I have another week’s vacation and plan to sell hot dogs again, Can you help?”

And all the children shouted together,” Of course we can!”
